Currently, I put a matress on the floor for my toddler to sleep on as I find he keeps tossing and turning which may land him on the floor if I put him on a bed at night. But my husband thinks it might be time for us to get him a bed and so, I googled toddler beds to find if they do have suitable toddler bedding for a tossing and turning little kid.
Seriously, I didn't know that these days, toddler beds come in so many designs from carriage-like ones for princesses to bulldozer ones for boys. And I thought beds only come in simple rectangle shapes with a headboard! Where have I been, huh?
Anyway, I think my son would love this firetruck toddler bed because he is so into fire engines and such these days. But if we buy him such a bed, I think we will get an earful from my mom-in-law. Sleeping on a fire truck is not exactly good 'fung shui', meaning a person wouldn't be getting peaceful sleep at night on such a 'fiery' bed. So, no way such a toddler bed would have a place in my home.
By the way, I also found this Bats Car toddler bed. Does it look cool to you? I find it too black though. Imagine all the mosquitoes that will be attracted to such a bed during the summer months.

My husband works nights so my toddler usually sleeps with me. LOL!

IF (BIG IF) my son had that firetruck bed, he'd NEVER sleep - he'd be awake salivating all night making WOO WOO siren noises!

ya.. gone were the days when toddler's bed was a simple crib! haven't got one for my baby yet.. will need to when he's bit bigger :-)
My boy and girl will never sleep in a toddler bed... the way they toss around. *rolls eyes*
wow! Those beds does looks nice. A sure way for your kid(s) to have a sweet dream sleeping on it or would it be the other way round like what worksformom said earlier.

i am in the process of moving my boy to his own room. but i am still sleeping with him on the twin/twin bunk bed. he is very tossy and likes to kick me a lot at night. hopefully when winter has past, i can have him in his own room by himself.

Hey Aud, my kids sleep on the matress on the floor. Hubby and I too ever since the children were born cos our kids would move and walk when they sleep and we are afraid they might fall from the bed.

i always love these todd beds too but too pricey to get two for my twins...hehe
we have a mattress on the floor for the boys but half way thru their sleep, they will climb up to our king size bed.... so all 4 of us ended waking up from the big bed!!

For now my boy will sleep on the other single normal rectangular bed. I wish many times that he has this kind of cool bed. But simply not practical for us now.

bed for a toddler? for me, I would juz choose a simple one, maybe with some cartoon charater on it.

i let Ian sleeps on a proper bed but with a bed rail. he doesnt need one now coz the bed rails has been transferred to Iris luckily he is very si mun when sleeping, unlike iris who can be upside down the next morning and she fell from herbed too but i got a mattress so she is ok. but now she sleeps on the mattress coz nearer to the fan. we r planning the transfer her to her own rm after CNY

Our little girl is almost 2 now, and she is a tosser. So instead of getting the toddler bed, we went straight to a twin bed. We got the short rails so it sits lower to the ground. Then we bought on of those attachable side rails. The other side is against the wall. She loves it!!
my daughter was the only one in the family that had a toddler bed. it was a white sleigh bed with a butterfly on it. she loved that thing!
my little guy sleeps on a double bed with a child guard thing to keep him from falling out and...he sleeps in my bed, too.

When my teenager was little we got him a futon. It was low enough that if (when) he fell out of bed, he didn't have far to the ground. He still uses it... lasts forever.
My guy is still in his crib but when It's time I'm going to just put him right into a twin bed and put one side against the wall and get a rail for the other side. My opinion is why spend all the money on a toddler bed that they may use only one or two years. Just get a twin bed and he can use it till he's a big guy.
My kids (3 of them) never sleep in toddler bed or cot, all sharing our bed. At least now we manage to "kick" the eldest to the mattress on the floor, so it's no2 and no3 sharing the queen bed with me and hubby sleep on the single bed next to the queen.
My boy already ten, anyway, he always sleep alone. girl is very attatch to me, she is 3 and I need to sleep with her in her king bed after she sleeps I get up for blogging:)
I like the fire truck bed but if my gals were to sleep on it, I think they will fall off that bed coz they tend to move around in their bed 360 degrees and would most likely land on the floor. I think sleeping on a mattress on the floor is still the best.

My four year old still sleeps on a mattress on the floor. We probably should get him a real bed soon, but it doesn't seem to bother him so what's the rush, right? My 2.5 year old toddler is still in a crib. That is, until usually 3am when he screams until we let him in our bed.
